The mission is to promote physical fitness
and provide a positive social outlet for gay and gay-friendly Charlotteans.
It is all-inclusive regarding
gender, orientation, ethnicity, etc. They look for swimmers who are
comfortable with the basic strokes and wish to improve and/or become
more physically
fit while meeting fun people along the way. Competition may be possible

Its mission is to promote the sport of bowling
within the LGBT community. It is also a member of the International
Gay Bowling Organization
(IGBO) and promotes its motto of Unity, Fellowship and Communication. The
group meets on Mondays beginning in September for 28 weeks.
Cost is $12.50/week. Practice begins at 7:50 p.m. and league
play
starts at
8 p.m. Charlotte
Rainbowlers is sanctioned by American Bowling Congress (ABC),
Women's International Bowling Congress (WIBC) and members of
IGBO. Several
members of the league
have placed in numerous gay bowling tournaments across the
nation and abroad.

LGBT-focused tennis club for individuals to come together
and enjoy the game of
tennis in
an open, friendly
atmosphere. The club is mainly recreational/social
in nature, but there are opportunities for competitive
play
as well.
All skill
levels are
welcome. Open play is held every Sunday at
10 a.m. at Park Road Park during warm
season, 7 p.m. on Wednesday nights at Hornet’s
Nest Park and on Sundays during the “cold” season at
12 p.m. Singles tennis ladder is available.
Matches are scheduled
by individuals at their
convenience.
