Greetings
in the name of a good pageant! I’d knock you down to see one right
about now. Too bad I had to miss the Entertainer of the Year, but congrats
to Angelique Ali who won. Her runners-up: Catia Lee Love and Dee Ranged.
Other ladies who qualified since our last time together include Mokha
Montrese who won Miss KY and the legendary Rita Ross, Miss Mid Tri-States.
Congrats to everyone involved on the 15th anniversary.
Of course the next biggie on the plate is Miss Continental coming up
in just weeks and I can hardly wait. Divas, anyone? As usual, a pack
of North
Kakalak kids are making the trek and I’m right there in the middle
of them. Other ladies grabbing their spots include Sonovia, Miss Chicago,
and Miss Peach State Savannah Leigh with RU Jasmine Bonet. Oh, I just hope
Jasmine International will come through at the last minute — I wanna
see her on that stage so badly, making her big splash.
On the Miss America scene, I’m sure Raquel Chevalier, the reigning
Miss, feels like she could honestly sing that old country song “I’ve
Been Everywhere, Man” as she jets from place to place, going to prelims
like Miss Tri-States, which a queen by the name of Sache won, Miss Heart
of America, which Victoria DePaula won with RU Atheena Voce, Miss Gulf
States, with winner Victoria Valentine, and Miss East Coast won by Stephanie
Michaels. Annastacia DeMoore is the new Miss Indiana, Miss Oklahoma is
Tabitha Taylor, the exciting Alyssa Edwards is Miss Northwest Regional,
Joey Wynters is Miss Ohio and our own Coti Collins is your new Miss Florida.
Congrats, ladies, and especially to our lady of illusions, Miss Coti.
We have so much local news, which is always delightful! The annual Miss
Firecracker pageant was recently held in Asheville at Scandal’s and
the blonde bombshell Holly Would won with RU Ericka Leshea. The first Miss
North Carolina United States was held in Greensboro at Warehouse 29 with
Savannah Savage taking the title and RU Nevaeh Simone. Two more contestants
added to the list of ladies who will compete at our Miss NC for Female
Impersonators, under the supervision of our lady with the crown, Miss Mysha
Paris — Tenisha Cassidine is the new Miss Western NC, and Sasha Leigh
Chambers is Miss Asheville. Good luck, girls. The first Miss Fusion was
recently held in S.C. Congrats are in order for the winner — a very
talented Tezra Devore and her RU’s Alexis Allure Chanel and Portia
de Paris. Victoria Layne, the emeritus, passed on the title.
Two bits of good news I’ll pass on — a documentary in which
Charlotte entertainer Tamalah Taylor was featured last year will be shown
at the upcoming Venice and Toronto film fests and Fayetteville entertainer
Arabia Knight-Addams is back on the scene after a little break. I hear
she’s tearing it up wherever she goes. Good to see you back in the
spotlight, girlfriend.
