Friends galore, and so much more

Tajma Hall, the new reigning Miss Dreamgirl Continental PLUS.
Howdy folks and Happy New Year! What an exciting season, just before some of the biggest national contests are shaping up, as well as our own Miss NC U.S.ofA.
I meant to mention in the last Drag Rag how grateful I am to Thomas of clickclick
expose.com who sent me prelim tapes and the final night of Miss EOY from this past year for my birthday/Christmas present. The quality is flawless — just like watching a tv show. Sickening!

Also, a correction from the last Rag — the gorgeous Tamia West of Miami is Miss Sunshine State Icon, not Miss South Miami.

Since I mentioned Miss NC U.S.ofA. in the opening, I’ll go ahead and offer congrats to the most recent qualifiers to that contest. Victoria Victors is the new Miss Hickory, crowned by Detra Penucci and her runner-up was Arcasia Xavier. Malaysia Black crowned Riva Iman Black Miss Tarheel (she won talent) and her RU was Neely O’Hara, who won interview and talent. I’d say this is gonna be a good contest coming up at Warehouse 29.
Speaking of Miss Gay U.S.ofA., I almost gagged when I saw the line-up of entertainers at Layla LaRue’s prelim, Miss Tri-States. She is having all the (main) national titleholders there as guests — Miss U.S.ofA. Alyssa Edwards, Miss Continental Victoria LePaige, Miss EOY Erica Andrews and Miss Gay America Luscious. Could it get any more fierce, I ask you?

Our pic this time is of Tajma Hall of Chicago, formerly of NC, the newest Miss Dreamgirl Continental PLUS. Since Taj is an old junior high school sista, we chat regularly and I know she is fiercely getting ready for the Easter Monday showdown in Chi-town. Ole girl has been debuting some lovely clothes by J.D. of Dallas, TX [tailor to the stars] and has a star-studded benefit at the Baton on Mon., Feb. 5 at 8 p.m., featuring Mr. and Miss Continental Simba Hall and Victoria LePaige, Tommie Ross, Chevelle Brooks, Crystal, Sheri Payne, Mimi Marks, and at press time, a possibility of Miss Continental Elite Maya Douglas being there. And why do I have to be so far away from Illinois?

In the next Drag Rag, we’ll have results from all the national systems, more winners from local prelims to state contests and even a new Miss Scorpio.
